COLLECTOR’S NOTES: The 72nd Armored Regiment "Crusaders" is no longer active. For a large part of its history, the regiment's battalions served in South Korea as part of the 2nd Infantry Division. After deploying to Iraq in 2004, the 2nd Battalion began preparations to inactivate in Korea in late 2005. It was subsequently deactivated as part of a larger reorganization of U.S. forces.
