COLLECTOR’S NOTES: The U.S. Army 130th General Hospital was a World War II-era unit that is now inactive. It served in the European theater and later provided medical support in Nuremberg, Germany, after the war. This unit was activated in 1942 and served during WWII in the European theater, including England and on the continent after D-Day. After the war, this unit was active in Nuremberg, Germany, from 1945 and provided medical care for wounded soldiers, liberated POWs, displaced persons, and personnel involved in the Nuremberg Trials. The U.S. Army's military medical facilities today operate under different designations and structures, and the 130th General Hospital no longer exists as an active unit.
