COLLECTOR’S NOTES: The Special Troops Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division was activated on April 6, 2007, and inactivated sometime in 2015. Its activation coincided with the formation of the 3rd Brigade Combat Team from the 1st Armored Division's existing 3rd Brigade Headquarters.

Disbandment: After the formation of the new 3rd Brigade Combat Team, the Special Troops Battalion was deactivated, with its functions absorbed into the restructured brigade.
