COLLECTOR’S NOTES: The 2nd Infantry Division Special Troops Battalion was established in November 2005 as part of the 2nd Brigade Combat Team and was subsequently inactivated in April 2008 when the 2nd Brigade was re-flagged as the 4th Brigade, 4th Infantry Division. It was later reactivated in July 2010 to support the new 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team. It is currently still active.
